Mobility

Mobile reception is a real challenge; the received signals are weak and affected by the speed, echoes or interferences.

Patented algorithms and architectures have been developed to achieve best in class reception in such tough conditions

In order to have good Mobile performance even with single receivers, DiBcom/Parrot´s chips integrate sophisticated signal processing algorithms such as “Dynamic FFT positioning”, “Fast channel estimation”, “FFT leakage removal”, etc…

However as the Doppler frequency increases, it becomes necessary to use Diversity which dramatically decreases the fading’s rate and duration which reduces  the needed average C/N to a value between 4 to 8 dB, depending of the standards’ physical layer.

As shown in the White Paper N°9,  thanks to the multi-standard capacity of the Parrot Software Defined Radio chip “Octopus”, it is possible to receive all DTT standards in the World and to compare their Mobile performances.
